March 2025.
Tatham footpath volunteers spent a hard, but enjoyable, day at Bank End farm, where a timber kissing gate was replaced due to all the posts and rails having rotted. The gate itself was OK, and was used a little further down the same footpath, where the gateposts were even more rotten, and the gate beyond re-use. Entertaining digging, in a glutinous bog! Our thanks to landowners, our very hard-working, always-cheerful, and now sun-tanned volunteers, and to Lancashire County Council Public Rights of Way Team, who support our footpath work with funding and materials through their Local Delivery Scheme. New volunteers are always welcome!
