In the midst of an Energy Bills Crisis, the Parish Council Carbon Committee staged seven events:
- Upgrading an old energy-inefficient stone house. Beethams. Case study with architect Val Hinde, and renewable heating expert Brendon Uys
- Wood-pellet boilers for homes and public areas. Church of the Good Shepherd
- Electric vehicle & e-bike showcase. Church of the Good Shepherd
- Solar electricity and hot water, air-to-air heat pump. Higher Stockbridge
- Air-source (air to water) heat pump. Lower Thrushgill
- Ground-source heat pumps 1. Three properties in Gressingham with a variety of configurations
- Ground-source heat pumps 2. School House
All hosts were enthusiastic about the events and were keen to talk about their installations and/or plans for further improvements in energy efficiency. Our expert guests at the Beethams visit were able to share many years of experience of working with old stone buildings, and provided much for hosts and visitors to ponder.
Our thanks to them for sharing their expertise, to all the hosts for opening their homes to strangers, and to all who attended.
