Have your say on Lancashire’s nature recovery journey
People are being asked to give their views to inform a key strategy to protect and restore habitats and species and drive nature’s recovery across Lancashire.
These Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRSs) are being developed across the country as part of a National Nature Recovery Network in line with the Environment Act 2021. Lancashire County Council has been appointed to lead the preparation of the strategy for Lancashire.
Nature recovery needs to be for everybody, so that people feel connected to the natural world around them and benefit from it. As well as nature’s recovery the strategy will help provide wider environmental benefits like cleaner air and water, reducing flood risk and also improving access to nature and the wellbeing benefits that can bring.
A survey to help inform the development of the Lancashire Local Nature Recovery Strategy, is now running until Sunday, March 31.
Participants can share their experiences and views about the current state of the county’s nature, the biggest local environmental issues, hopes for the future and where nature recovery should be prioritised.
The feedback provided will be used to help inform the strategy and shape the future of nature across the county, protecting it for future generations.
The project is being run in collaboration with supporting authorities including Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool, our 12 District Councils and the Yorkshire Dales National Park authority.
The survey closes on 31St March 2024. Please click this link to complete.
