March 2025. We reported in February 2024 that an attractive signpost by the footbridge on the public footpath from the Church of the Good Shepherd to Lowgill had been removed, and was presumed stolen. Click here for the background. It was recently spotted by an eagle-eyed landowner, lying in an inaccessible stretch of the beck, 50 yards upstream from the bridge. It has now been restored to its rightful place by Tatham Footpath Volunteers, and the good news has been shared with the original installers, the Peak & Northern Footpaths Society.
