February 2021. Councillor Osborne attended an on-line presentation, by Kate Gilmartin, for parish councillors and other interested people, on the Rural Community Energy Fund, which has been set up to enable communities to find solutions for carbon reduction via energy efficiency or renewable energy. A community successful in accessing the offered funding can form a “not for profit” Benefit Society and invite investment by share issue – a similar model to B4RN. A variety of types of existing Community Groups can apply, or a new one could be formed. Initial applications would be for a feasibility study.
